If you are buying aftermarket rims and tires for your lexus im assuming they will be dubs with low profile tires. unless your next car has the same lug pattern as your current lexus the rims will not be interchangeable. you do have the option of buying ';generic'; lug patterns that can fit numerous cars but these are usually lower quality though. keep in mind that replacing your stock wheels with the larger ones will alter the handling characteristics as well as the ride quality-a larger rolling mass is much harder to stop with factory brakes than the stock wheelset...good luckIm looking to purchase new rims for my car but i need advise?
be aware that buying larger rims and low profile tryes will wear out the tryes fast. Low profile tryes are a much softer compound and will wear out in about 25,000 miles if looked after whereas normal sized tryes are made out of a harder compound and should last about 50,000 miles if looked after and the normal sizes tyres are cheaper to buy. Certain stud patterns fit certain cars but all are not interchangeable.
If the new car you buy just happens to have the same sized tires and the exact same bolt pattern, yes. If not, no. Or to put it another way, it's not very likely.
ONLY IF YOU BUY THE RIMS THAT HAVE A UNIVERSAL LUG PATTERN.
You must have a car to put them on that takes the same lug pattern and size tires, otherwise the speedometer will be thrown off because the tires will be rotating too fast or too slow depending on if the tire size is too small or too big for the other car.
