I am about to ship some goods from china, can someone advise me on proceedure?

I am in the process of organising the shipping of 2CBM from China. I've not done this before, could anyone advise me on the proper proceedure? I understand the term FOB, but am unsure who to contact about insurance and how i will know when it has arived at the port and how i would arrange to collect it etc

HELP!!!

.I am about to ship some goods from china, can someone advise me on proceedure?
DHL will take care of itI am about to ship some goods from china, can someone advise me on proceedure?
You'll need to obtain a copy of the Bill of Laiding before the consignment lands, establish which TARIC codes apply to the goods and provide this information to Customs. Once the consignment has cleared customs and you've paid the taxes due the goods will be released to you or your agent.

I've recommend appointing an import agent - they're usually very cost effective and will be able to handle unloading, liase with Customs and deal with storage and/or forwarding to you. Most have direct access to shipping and Customs systems so will be able to keep you informed of progress and handle forwarding quicker and more efficiently than if you try to do it yourself.

It's usually cheaper and much easier to have the Chinese shippers arrange insurance on your behalf.
I think you need a Chinese person to help you find what you need in China, and I know a website can provide the service , the service is called ';Person to Person'; http://www.knowhowing.com/persontoperson鈥?/a> 锛?through the service you just like engage a ';agent'; in China to help you to find what you need in China.
The seller should offer to arrange the details (at your cost - added to his selling price)

The best way is to arrange CIF terms with him. (Carriage + Insurance + Freight) these are normal terms. You have to arrange customs clearance upon arrival, and pay any taxes. I do this by using an agent at the point of entry. The agent advises you that the goods are cleared for collection, and once you have paid his fee will arrange transportation to yourself.

FOB is cheaper, but not so good as all responsibility lies upon you once the goods have been loaded at the other end.

Insurance is quite cheap, I pay five eighths of one percent of the value of the goods.

I want my child to be 1st in salad decoration.please advise me recipies and decoration?

How old is he? Can he use a knife? Does he have to prepare everything at the school or can he take already cut radish or carrot flowers? If he's only assembling a pretty salad, that's a lot different than starting with a head of lettuce, whole veggies, etc. much less the salad dressing.

This recipe from a family friend can look very pleasing if assembled carefully and then just drizzle the dressing on it rather than tossing it.

ALMOND - ORANGE SALAD

1/4 cup salad oil

2 T. white wine vinegar

2 T. sugar

1/4 tsp. almond extract

Torn Greens - Romaine or leaf or bibb lettuce, spinach, etc.

2-3 medium oranges - remove rind and slice or chunk

(or use mandarin oranges)

1 cup celery - sliced

2 T. onions or chives - sliced

1/3 cup toasted almonds

Mix dressing together. Wash greens and arrange on individual serving dishes. Top with the other items, then add with dressing. Or toss together in one bowl and serve.I want my child to be 1st in salad decoration.please advise me recipies and decoration?

  • Can anyone give me advise on trekking in Peru?

    I am planning a trip as a birthday treat to myself in a few years time. I would be grateful for any advise offered.Can anyone give me advise on trekking in Peru?
    It depends what you're looking for. If you're looking for ruins, then The Inca trail (the classic trail or the Ausangate route) is a good choice. You could also do Choquequirao in 5 days and, following the same trail, reach Machu Picchu in 10 days.

    If you're looking for the trekking itself, the views, the technical difficulty, etc. Then you should be looking towards Huaraz. There are many treks around Huaraz. If you want a nice one that is not so tough, try the ';Santa Cruz'; trek. If you want even more amazing views and are willing to handle a tougher trail, try Huayhuash. I'm doing Choquequirao this year.

    Something you should keep in mind is that the time to trek in the Andes is between June and September (the dry season).

    Hope this helps.Can anyone give me advise on trekking in Peru?
    All great advice. The best I can say is spend a few days taking it easy to get acclimated to the altitude-even the most fit people get really short of breath, and if you don't keep up with your fluid intake you can get horrible headaches and stomach upset.

    Have a great time! Peru is beautiful and fascinating.
    Make sure you hire a good guide to go to Macchu Pichu. Make sure you are in good physical shape when you go. This is not a leisurely trek. Be prepared to experience altitude sickness, chew the leaves the locals sell. Take plenty of good sunblock and apply it constantly even if you do not burn.

    All depends what you want to do

    Can anybody give me advise for choosing a major?

    I am 12th grade right now and by nov. 30 the application for college application will be over. I am planning to be an engineer but I am not quiet sure what branch of engineering will i be taking. I love computers so i am planning to take electronic and computer engineering but I dont have real knowledge about the inside of the computer. My question is do you have to have knowledge about the area I want to take before I take it or is it enough to just be interested in it?.Can anybody give me advise for choosing a major?
    as soon as you go to college it will take you about a year to really no what u wanna do. its normal.your not lost you just growing. do what makes you happy.Can anybody give me advise for choosing a major?
    It doesn't matter too much what major you choose. You can change it in the future, or do something totally unrelated to your degree major after school anyway. I have a degree in computer engineering but work as a manager at a hotel.
    it is basically the interest which counts and a little bit of knowledge...coz when you study you aquire more knowledge and become an expert.
    first of all basic knowledge about the course u want to take is important. make sure u know what ur getting urself into. secondly, ask urself these questions:

    am i smart enough?

    what other abilities/talents i have that can help me succeed?

    whats my 5 year plan, 10 year plan?

    after considering all of the above, do i really want it?

    all the best!

    Why do some piercers advise against using a bone for a nose piercing?

    I have a new nose piercing and the spiral irritates the inside of my nose but my piercer (not my normal piercer) advised against usuing a bone. Why would that be bad?Why do some piercers advise against using a bone for a nose piercing?
    the wad at the back is an irritant, MUCH larger risk of infection.Why do some piercers advise against using a bone for a nose piercing?
    You should keep cleaning it with the warm/hot water sea salt soaks 3 times a day, or whenever needed.

    Also, use a q-tip soaked in that solution to get the crust off from around it. Gross, I know, but it's normal.

    My piercer advised me to keep my piercing in at least a month to 6 weeks before I took it out.

    The nose bone isn't recommended because the knob at the end is bigger than the bar that'll go through your nose. (making the hole bigger, and not letting your piercing heal properly and on time)

    I use L-shaped jewelry. I just hook it in my nose and I don't feel it, because it's hooked going up. (if that makes sense) You should look into those.

    http://www.hottopic.com/hottopic/store/p鈥?/a>
    Bone is difficult to keep clean. Any pores in the surface tend to collect schmutz and bacteria.
    Don't worry doc is very small, im sure he'll fit in just fine.

    Hi everyone, can u advise of some ways to build credit and raise your score in less that a year or so?

    My score is 550 and I'm hoping to purchase my first home via FHA (and Nehemiah) within the next year or two.

    Any ideas on how to build credit since my score is too low to qualify for a credit card. Thank you everyone.Hi everyone, can u advise of some ways to build credit and raise your score in less that a year or so?
    you could take out a small personal loan for something you need or have been wanting like a piece of furniture or something like that. but you have to make the monthly payments. you cant just pay it off with one payment. it is the consistent payment over time that helps build your credit. when i was still in high school my dad co-signed for me to borrow money for a stereo in my room. he said it would help me get credit. it must have worked because i have never had trouble getting loans and my score is 740.

    thing to remember: if your score is low because of past financial trouble this wont help, but if it is low because you are young and have had no chances to build credit then this could help out. i wouldnt expect a huge change in a year either way.Hi everyone, can u advise of some ways to build credit and raise your score in less that a year or so?
    I would suggest enrolling in a good credit repair service that produces real results. I refer my clients to the best I've found. I recently had a client who needed to qualify for a mortgage with her fianc茅. She enrolled in the credit repair program and her score increased 75 points in 5 months. Now her credit score is higher than her fianc茅鈥檚. Keep in mind that by law anything on your credit that is incorrect, out of date or unverifiable has to be removed by law. A good credit repair company will know what types of things can and cannot be verified. I've even seen bankruptcies removed from credit reports!
    小redit repair work械d fine to fix my credit. They disputed and removed lots of bad items from my credit report. I used this service - creditreport.fateback.com
    My score is 730

    Where i can get advise regarding individual house plan with three dimensional views?

    self have a plan to construct a house, hence looking for a good plan and advise with front view photographs, planned to construct with 4 bed room, 1 hall, 1 sitout, 1dinning room, 1kitchen and attached bathrooms etc.Where i can get advise regarding individual house plan with three dimensional views?
    Most obvious and most direct is use the WWW for what it's intended. Searching.

    Most sites might show elevations; but many will only show floor plans of the interior. Renderings of individual rooms might be included; but PLANS or step by step instructions are rarely offered for FREE, by any contracting company/builder.

    Certainly using keywords in your search should yield hundreds of examples.

  • I need some more advise. How to tell a mother that I will not babysit her child next month?

    Her child is very misbehaved and I have a new baby and am only taking well behaved children. This child does many things that are unacceptable in my house, the 3 worst are lying, hitting, and swearing. He is acutally a pretty cute kid and not defiant, but I cannot deal with such continual disipline needs at this point, especially when the parents say 'good luck' and drop him off. I told her once that he was hitting and she didn't even say anything to him that I know of or follow through at home. She didn't even seem suprised. How do I tell her in 20 minutes that I will continue to the end of next week only?I need some more advise. How to tell a mother that I will not babysit her child next month?
    Be honest, but in a gentle way. She obviously knows how he behaves and hasn't taken any steps to stop it so maybe if she keeps losing babysitters she will finally get a clue. Tell her that you cannot abide by the hitting and swearing, and that other parents are complaining that the kid is swearing in front of their children. However you should be fair, give her two weeks notice instead of one so she has ample time to find somebody new. She might get mad and pull him out immediately, but at least you'll know that you were fair and went by the standard that most people think is reasonable. Good luck.I need some more advise. How to tell a mother that I will not babysit her child next month?
    sound good. give her enough time
    Be blunt. Tell her that her child is undeciplined and everytime you talk to them about his behavior they either brush you off or just plain doesn't care therefore, I will not be watching your child anymore for he is a bad influence on the others so they are going to have to find somebody else so you are giving them a weeks notice.
    I think you should explain to her that you have other responsibilities and you are responsible for other people's children as well as your own, and with the repeated misconduct of her child you can no longer take him every week. Be sure to explain that you are fond of her child, but that he needs a more structured atmosphere. Suggest preschool, or a professional daycare.
    There are times in life when you have to be honest in order to avoid remaining miserable.

    You need to sit down with the mother, and in a nice tone, explain exactly why you no longer want to babysit the child. It's amazing how mild folks' reactions are when people are tactfully honest with them. I know it'll be a tough thing to do, but you benefit in the long run.
    tell her ur gonna start college and your not gonna have time or just give her a 2 week notice
    I don't think you even need to give a reason, just sufficient notice, which you are giving. You can tell her your whole reason (but don't expect it to result in any change for the better) or simply that he is too disruptive, period.
    This is a tough one, but I think you need to tell the truth. Just call up and say:

    ';I'm sorry, I don't think it's best for me to continue watching your child. I am sorry for having to do this but I really feel uncomfortable with the things you allow him to do. I apologize for the inconviniance.';
    Tell the mother of the child that he is ill behaved and you don't want your child to pick up on the habbits or you could just say that you can't watch the child and not give a reason.
    JUST BE HONEST AND TELL HER, YOU HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT YOU AND THE SAFETY OF THE OTHER CHILD YOU CAN NOT WORRY ABOUT HER FEELINGS. GOOD LUCK
    Don't lie to her. Just tell her the truth. Your first responsibility is to take care of the other children. Tell her that you're sorry that things couldn't work out with taking care of him, but you think it's time she looks for another babysitter. If she gets mad, oh well, sounds like another case of lack of parental control/discipline.
    Just tell her that your going to a wedding.And then find a hotel and spend the night over there or stay at a family or friends house!
    Be honest and tell her that you can't look after her child anymore, its up to you and its your house, don't feel bad about it, why should you have to do something that you don't want to.
    Simple, ';Sorry, I'm not available next week because of other obligations.';.
    Just tell her ';I will no longer be able to care for ___ after next week. __/__/__ will be his last day here. I am not able to meet his special needs and he is not working out with the other children here. I have to do what is best for everyone. I wish you luck in finding him a more suitable placement';

    Then stand firm. Plan a goodbye party for his last day if he has been a long term guest (have a farewell cake!). Don't be mean or spiteful. You've clearly stated what the problem is in the past, no need to rehash it. Bid the kid a fond farewell (to his and his parents face) and collapse in eternal gratitude the minute they are gone.
    Tell them that for his own safety he needs more supervision than you can give him at this time. DO NOT babysit a child that is not disciplined at home. It's a nightmare and you do not want him to harm your own baby. Tell them straight out and don't sweat the consequences. Do it for yourself and your new baby. Good luck and take a stand.
    just tell her i have a new baby i am a new mother and i want to spend these times with my child. She should understand don't be scared of her just tell her what you feel. You can't put up with him hitting and saying disrespectful things you would just like a break for awhile until you are ready to take on two kids again. Its simple as that good luck i completely know what you are going through i was a full time nanny and he was just out of control so i had to let it go. Best Wishes
    WilmaF is right. Tell her you have more responsibilities and tell her the truth about her son's behaviors.

    That kid needs a good spankin.
    Be honest. Tell her that he is too much to handle and you can't devote the time and supervision he needs, especially when he acts up. Tell her you are sorry but you just don't think he is well behaved and with a new baby, it is a responsibility you don't want. Don't attack her parenting skills (for not taking care of things after you've mentioned them). Just be sure to give her enough time to find other child care (2 weeks is sufficient). You owe her no further explanation. As with any other business, you have a right to refuse service.
    You don't sound like someone who wants to leave her in a lurch...give her notice so she can find someone else. Just tell her you can not watch him after such and such a date. Don't think an explanation is required, I suspect she already knows. If she asks, then explain.
    You should tell her the truth. You have a new baby now with more responsibilities and you only want well-behaved children in your house.

    You don't have to go into details. It sounds like the mother knows about all of that already.
    Tell her the truth ! Why should YOU suffer because THEY are bad parents ? Tell them straight ............. ';your child is violent , and I won`t put up with that ..... period !';

    Tell them they have one week to find a replacement ! Don`t fall for any stories they may give you that they can`t find one ! Stick to your guns !

    You also have to consider the safety of the other kids . What happens if the little demon pushes a kid off the chair or steps , and that kid breaks an arm or leg ?? You`ll spend the rest of your life paying off the lawsuit award !
    suck it up and baby sit him. lifes not always easy, there is always going to be obstacles and harder people to deal with than others.

    How do I give great advise, but, personally, have no idea?

    How do I give such great advise to my friends about relationships, yet am unable to find one of my own?How do I give great advise, but, personally, have no idea?
    Because you might know what's smart in a relationship and unlike most people, you could be looking for the right person so you can have a good relationship, not just wandering and going for whoever comes along.How do I give great advise, but, personally, have no idea?
    You can see their relationships from the outside prospective but cannot see your own. You can only give advice to those you can see whats going on but when it comes down to you for yourself you cant see it all. Even if you give great advice you should go to someone for advice for yourself even highly educated counselors do this.
    It's a lot easier to make rational, logical decisions from the outside of situations. You don't have nearly the skin in the game.
    giving advice,without knowing what to say, is handing an infant a loaded gun. steer clear unless You know that of which you speak. and as for you not knowing your own heart? seek help.
    Because you have a good insight into people, and its easier to see the whole picture when your not in it. I am the same way.
    Because when it's personal you are emotionally involved and can't think with logic! Besides it's easier to give advices then to actually follow them.

    Can anyone offer me some advise/tips to help me become more successful in my real estate career?

    I am 22 years old; I just started a new career part time as a real estate salesperson while I am still finishing up my Batchelor鈥檚 Degree and working a full time job. As some of you may know the hardest part of real estate is getting started I am also in California where the real estate market is really competitive. Is there any advice that someone to give me to become more successful in terms of generating more leads or marketing in general?Can anyone offer me some advise/tips to help me become more successful in my real estate career?
    You will have to either do this full time or not at all. There is no possible way you could be successful if you are not available 9-5 to deal with banks, appraisers, inspectors, title companies, etc etc. You also need to be on call weekends and 5-8 pm to show property, take listings and deal with the buyers and sellers.

    You are not being realistic thinking you can do this on the side, when it is convenient for you.Can anyone offer me some advise/tips to help me become more successful in my real estate career?
    The only successful part-time agent I have met is in partial retirement from a full-time real estate career. He often refers buyers to other agents in his office and collects a referral fee. He prefers to work with sellers, and he tells them that he is partially retired, but will be available when needed. Since most of his clients have worked with him previously they trust his word.
    you might try working using your local newspaper advertising your office name ect.or try placing an ad in the penny saver you know that leaflet that comes with your mail that advertises such things as houses,things for sale ect.even doing a blog thats all i know';good luck and success!!from rick andrew ventura ca.
    My advice: Find another job until you graduate.

    I have never seen a successful part-time agent. This is also the worst time in a decade to get started in the business..even seasoned agents are having trouble.

    Marketing yourself takes time...lots of time.
    Get a partner that is full time in the business . Take a small percentage to ge started. Do the paperwork, sit open houses, show clients on the weekends. This leaves your partner to work full time on getting business. BE CREATIVE!!!!
    There are plenty of ways to market yourself online as well as offline and make money even in this economy. I'm going to focus on the internet since over 80% of home buyers start their search on the web.

    You can create a targeted specific lead generation website for your area like www.NYBirdDog.com or www.NYRehablist.com. Both of these websites are targeting real estate investors looking for properties in New York. Once the visitor arrives at the website they are asked to leave their name and email and they not only receive a free gift but they will get an email whenever a property is available in their area.

    You can do this for specific types of sellers by using websites like www.DutchessHomebuyers.com or www.StopForeclosureDutchess.com each of these websites is attempting to attract a specific type of seller.

    Below you can find more information, examples and videos.

    What is the best positive advise regarding college selection,prep.,and/or college experience?

    I want your opinions and wisdom... just answer the question above... I also have two more

    What is you best advise regarding a profession or career.

    and

    what is your best advise regarding personal achievements outside college and careers?What is the best positive advise regarding college selection,prep.,and/or college experience?
    I would recommend reading the occupational outlook or it may be called the occupational forecast. it lists all occupations and projected job openings, job growth, along with educational requirements., average starting salaries, etc...

    What are your interests? what do you like to do ? what type of environment are you used to? some schools are known for certain areas of study. what makes you happy? Study something that you enjoy, but be sure that it willbe applicable in todays workforce....

    I would definitely visit some local universities just to get a feel for the size and type of environment. you could easily get lost in a large state university , a class sized of 500 , yes one class, intro to Psy, all together on a lecture hall, Would you feel comfortable?

    Also, any work or volunteer experience is an asset in the eyes of college admissions.

    Perhaps consider volunteering some where that you think you'd like to work Everyone can use free help, and your experiences will be a good subject to write about in your admissions essay.

    Also, take a look at the employment websites, monster, etc. where are the openings?. don't major in something that will be useless after graduation. for example. a major in anthropology, what jobs are you qualified for? Any openings for anthropologists posted in the want ads?

    perhaps go to a career counselor, There are standardized tests that determine the types of jobs or occupations that best match your interests and personality.

    and dont' worry so much, you do not have to declare a major till your junior year in college, you can apply as a undecided major, and then take ';into to'; everything, thats my personal experience , I changed majors 5 times and finished with a Masters degree.

    good luckWhat is the best positive advise regarding college selection,prep.,and/or college experience?
    The best advice anyone has ever given me is about choosing a major. They told me to pick a field, not a career. The way it was drilled into my head was, for example, okay I am picking a major.. what job do I want? I know, I want to research evolution? So okay,I am going to major in biological anthropology and maybe minor in sociology or something, and I'm set. Only if in four years when I graduate the job market for researchers sucks or I don't want to research evolution anymore-- oh crap, I'm screwed!

    Instead, I realized I am really interested in politics. So, for example, I major in political science. It is my intention to go to law school and be a lawyer, HOWEVER, if I can't afford law school or decide I don't want to work so many hours, I can be a political journalist, a lobbyist, a campaign manager, a political author, or any other thing and still be working with a subject matter I enjoy.

    In short: Choose a SUBJECT you enjoy so you have more than one career option that you'll be happy with.

    I need to get some disco and karaoke equipment insured. Can anyone advise the best type of insurance needed?

    I am just starting up a disco/karaoke business and will need to get the equipment insured. It will be securely stored at home but will obviously be taken out of my home to various venues when I go and do a gig. It is apparently not covered under home contents insurance if it is off the property. Also do I need a public indemnity policy as well?I need to get some disco and karaoke equipment insured. Can anyone advise the best type of insurance needed?
    You're going to need a commercial policy with a property floater (a property floater covers business property when it is away from the insured's premises) that covers your equipment. Yes liability coverage (which can be included on the commercial policy) is highly recommended and will probably be required by the venues you are bringing the equipment to.I need to get some disco and karaoke equipment insured. Can anyone advise the best type of insurance needed?
    It's called an inland marine policy. You probably will need liability - sometimes called public indemnity insurance.

    You need to talk to a local agent to get quotes on both policies.
    You can cover goods away from home under a home insurance policy, but not goods that are used in a business capacity. You need a separate policy and your current insurer may be able to provide you with that. Public liability is not a legal requirement in the UK - but it should be. If you don't have it and your equipment injures someone they will sue you.

It folds up quite nicely for storage. has adjustable reclining seat. And has a little basket underneath which i personally use to keep some bibs in and some cloths. Plus, it's very easy to put together as it comes flat packed. It literally took less than five minutes to have it up and running. I couldn't find a better highchair if i tried.

    There's also one available in more colours. heres a few others you can get:

    edit: just read the post above me and i think she has the same as me.
    No, I have never had a problem with my kids climbing out of the high chair. If it does become a problem, just use the harness, they can't get these undone on their own. I agree that it is best to have that extra support between their legs especially when they are still quite small.
    As a mother of three, I would say get the one with the central strut. Highchairs usually come with straps as well. My experience is if you don't leave your child unattended in the chair, you won't have to worry about them climbing out and getting hurt.
    Mine has that strut and my 14 month old has been trying to climb out for the last 3 months....

    If not then volleyball in the water is cool. I think they even have water basketball.

    Throw a lot of quarters in the pool and see who can get the most.

    If you can find a dummy or large doll then throw it in the pool so it looks dead.

    I need some advise on opening a small coffee shop?

    I don't have any start up so need to go in the way of loans or grants. I do have experience in running a business as well as the accounting aspect of things. Can anyone give me some ideas on what my first steps should be?I need some advise on opening a small coffee shop?
    Aah, coffee shop yum...my favorite hot beverage everyday I cannot live without it. So anyway, First if you have enough money for the expenses or how much loan has been approved, second the location very important if it's a business oriented location or site close by any residential area I'm sure your coffee shop will be successful, Third hiring the right people to work for you, fourth put up some goodies like cookies, bagels any thing that goes with coffee. and of course don't forget the insurance that can cover your business.If you are ready, a business minded gal :), your money is good then go for it...hail to the coffee drinkers that's me.I need some advise on opening a small coffee shop?
    Call your local small business association (SBA) they are a federal program and helped us a lot when we had to get a loan. They actually were able to guarantee 85% of the loan.
    you need to draw up a business plan. Do you have a location? Survey of prospective customers?
    I suggest you either save money first, or find an investor

    Your problem is you don't have any startup money. Without any capital, you cannot get a loan -- even from SBA. SBA and banks look for

    - equity investment

    - collateral

    - business plan

    - personal credit history

    - knowledge of the business (previous management experience for example)

    It is hard to find grants to start a business. Unlike the myths that some perpetuate, federal government and even private foundations hardly give grant money for starting a for-profit business.

    One possible exception is for companies developing or exporting agricultural goods, including food and forest product. Another exception could be the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) or Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs http://www.sba.gov/aboutsba/sbaprograms/鈥?/a> , which fund the research and development of technological innovation that meets specific government needs.

    Your best bet actually will be from the states if they offer grant programs for women (or any other special interest groups -- minorities, women, disabled, veterans, etc). Or check with non profit organizations, particularly women organizations if they offer grants. Examples include

    Iowa Women's Foundation http://www.iawf.org/

    New Mexico Women's Foundation http://www.nmwf.org/guidelines.html

    Even SBA does NOT give out grants. From the SBA website http://www.sba.gov/mostrequesteditems/CO鈥?/a>

    ';The U.S. Small Business Administration does not offer grants to start or expand small businesses, although it does offer a wide variety of loan programs. (See http://www.sba.gov/financing for more information) While SBA does offer some grant programs, these are generally designed to expand and enhance organizations that provide small business management, technical, or financial assistance. These grants generally support non-profit organizations, intermediary lending institutions, and state and local governments.';

    Nonetheless, you can go to the Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance (CFDA) http://www.cfda.gov and Grants.gov http://www.grants.gov - these are two sites created by the federal government to provide transparency and information on grants. Browse through the listings and see if you can find any grant that would support a for-profit venture.
    write a business plan. there are many templates available online. it's kinda of text-book-ish, but it makes you think about all areas of your business in which you may not have thought of yet. that will give you an idea of how much money you need. next, apply for a loan. if you can borrow from family members, that's better b/c you will save on interest. then, you need to apply for you city business license (which you will just call your city to ask what the fees are and where to get an application), a business license with your state, and a health inspection (which will give you a health permit).

    good luck!

    Can some accountants out there advise what is account reconciliation?

    Account reconciliations: It appears that all accounting jobs require applicants to do this.

    Please outline the process of account reconciliations, this is not something i seen in the textbook.

    To my knowledge, acct reconciliations should be done monthly right, but my supervisor said capital asset balance account is only done once a year at year end.????

    Please help me!Can some accountants out there advise what is account reconciliation?
    Generally, reconciling the accounts means comparing the account balances with the transactions over a time period, and ensuring that all the credits and debits since the last time the accounts were reconciled reflect the new account totals.Can some accountants out there advise what is account reconciliation?
    It's like, do you have a checking account? You check it at least once a month.

    CAPX is finalised at year end, but if you have a lot it is easier to keep up with it during the year.

    I need some advise on maling products from home?

    I'm planning on starting my own small business, selling beauty products online from home. Does anyone have any tips or advise on how to mail the products safely? What things do I need to consider when it comes to shipping charges? I don't want to over-charge my customers w/ shipping fees. Which one is more effective, charging S%26amp;H fee base on weight or subtotal amount?

    This is not for selling on EBAY, I'll have my own website that sell cosmetics and skin care.I need some advise on maling products from home?
    I have found the best way to charge for shipping is actual weight. However, if people are ordering multiple items they will want to know how much shipping is upfront prior to completing their order. In this case, you may want to charge a sliding scale fee for shipping, for example, subtotal is from 0.01 - 9.99 has a shipping charge of $6.00. You can also just say shipping is x% of the subtotal. You don't want to over charge for shipping, but you don't want to incur a loss as a result of shipping either. You can always refund excess shipping charges to the customer in the former of cash or merchandise credit.

    As for shipping the actual items....I personally prefer to wrap the item in newsprint and pack the box full of peanuts. For individual items that do not require as much care, the bubble wrapped brown mailers are good too.I need some advise on maling products from home?
    You may also look out for an option to work online to make extra cash in your spare time. I am a part time worker doing work online at home, so I would like to share a link where you can make $600-$1500 in a month working at home. Ebay.. the name spell success. It is a big business having multi billions dollars of tranaction happening in a year. There are countless person having a earning of 6 figure income. And of course many others having a regular income varying netween $500-$5000 per month. There are many persons, who has taken up this as a career but dropped it because they did not feel as an opportunity due to some or the other reason. There are certain guidelines which need to be followed to be successful in ebay like other business demands.For details visit

    Fees based on weights will be the only secure way.

    Also, talk to your local postal employees - many cosmetics cannot be sent on airplanes (used by carriers to transport long distances) due to safety concerns. An example - nail polish cannot be sent anyway other than surface transportation because the bottle breaks under pressure changes in flight.

    Postal employees have a chart that can help you with these issues and how best to ship the item.

    Good Luck on your venture!
    Check with the different companies that ship and see what it is going to cost you. FedEx , Ups , USPS the more the weight the more it cost put a few products in a box and take to see that the shipping would be. You don't want to over charge but you also don't want to lose money. You also need to consider your cost for the supplies you use in Shipping.

  • Ladies can you advise me on something related to knitting and crocheting?

    I am gonna be looking for either a manufacturer or persons to make hats to fit a line I want to make. Now I am planing to use a natural material but unaware of what will work and allow some stretch. next up is there some really nice ways or more so unique ways to knit or crochet? Even if it is hard and expensive, the look is gonna count more. The hat style is gonna be like large kippah aka skullcap.

    Thanks for any and all help.Ladies can you advise me on something related to knitting and crocheting?
    My specialty is hats.

    Here are a couple sites I use to find good patterns.

    http://www.crochetpatterncentral.com/dir鈥?/a>

    http://www.knittingpatterncentral.com/di鈥?/a>

    If you have more information feel free to e-mail me. I would definitely be interested in helping you out.Ladies can you advise me on something related to knitting and crocheting?
    I would stay away from synthetics for the main fiber, some has good stretch but poor 'memory' so it doesn't bounce back quickly--some has so much memory that it has little to no stretch at all...wool is always really nice fiber, and with the new blends out there you can have a plethera of textures.

    There are also new fibers like corn, shell, bamboo which you could use too. Take a look at some of the free sock patterns online--check out what fiber they use, those are great stretchy yarns with a good memory.

    Before you start selling hats you will of course like to make several versions of each hat in a differing yarn/color/embellishment/etc. so the supplier can see their versitality.

    I would start in a smaller end market too in a local millinery shop...this way you can gauge what sells and what doesn't without having to make a massive amount of hats at once. You can make 3 or 4 of a single style...it will even get your name out into the industry ahead of your product and can help build your reputation.
    I would recommend surfing Etsy to see what's already being made out there.
    I would suggest that you crochet some prototypes of hats that you want in your line with a variety of fibers to find the perfect stretch you are looking for. What works for me may not work for you. http://www.youtube.com/tjw1963
    Cotton- very little stretch. But wool is a natural fiber that stretches. You can also use a natural fiber like cotton and have spandex twisted into it.
    Chances are that some kind of wool will be your fiber of choice, but wool can be itchy for many heads--especially those that are balding. You may also want to experiment with a lining, which will not only keep itchiness at bay, but could also add just the right amount of give and shaping.
    Hi I crochet hats for the homeless and love the patterns at Croshay Design. Laurie is a very good designer and her hat patterns are very up-to-date. As for the material you will need something that stretches or gives so the people who make the hats will not have a hard time getting the hook or needles to go back and forth through the material. There are all types of stitches that can be used to crochet hats but the material needs to give a little so that it can stretch over the head. You do not want your product to give the wearer a headache. I wish you the best of luck in your endevor.

    Can you please advise of the legalities of airline tickets?

    Specifically, if the airline ticket is issued in my name, can a third party contact the airline to make changes or cancel the bookings? In my example the third party paid for the tickets, but they have been issued to me in my name?Can you please advise of the legalities of airline tickets?
    Legally no. Once ticket issue under your name, regardless who is paying for it, a carrier contract (ticket) is validated. But the travel agency is more likely to take the paying customer side.

    The seat

    Airline will only make changes if contacted by the passenger or the agency that issued the ticket. However, it is definitely possible for someone pretend to be you to have your seats cancelled. If you are holding the paper ticket or the e ticket is not refunded by the travel agency (maybe it is a non-refundable ticket), you can still board the plan if seat still available. The airline will honor the valid ticket.

    Value of the ticket

    If the ticket issued to you as paper ticket than they need it back before process any transaction. You have control over the paper ticket in your hand and in your name. If the paper ticket was paid by credit card and you do not want to travel as scheduled, you can exchange the ticket by paying for the difference if any.

    If it was issued as e ticket, the travel agency may process the refund without your coorporation. To gain control over the ticket, you can try to have the validated carrier converting the e ticket to paper ticket by paying a fee . If you are unable to do that you can exchange the ticket with the carrier, before the issuing agency refund the e ticket. Once you have the ticket exchanged else where the travel agency is no longer the issuer.

    The only except is if the fare is contracted by the travel agency, you will then be referred back to them for any changes. If the payer did not protest to the travel agency, they will likely process as requested by the passenger.

    Legally the passenger has the rights to the ticket from airlines prospective. But the agreement between the passenger and the payer can often be disputed in court.Can you please advise of the legalities of airline tickets?
    sure y not. just make sure the 3 party have all the information required

    What would you advise before having a second baby?

    Our daughter is 9.5 months old and still breastfeeding, so it's not that likely it'll happen soon, but we're trying for baby number 2. for those of you that have children with similar age gaps, what advice would you give?What would you advise before having a second baby?
    don't be so sure that its not likely to happen soon. it happened to us the very first time we tried for our second one.

    The best thing i could advise is to be prepared the best you can. Try to make sure you are done breastfeeding the first one before your belly starts to grow. Because it is going to be very difficult. Also, you need to get that baby used to eating other foods. And being less dependant on you.

    by the time your 2nd comes along, the first one is going to be running around like crazy, playing with all kinds of toys and making a mess of her room, your going to be running after her half the time and teaching her ';NO';.. So make sure your house is fully childproofed, because you are going to have to focus on two children at once and its going to be distracting.

    Have plenty of supplies stocked up for both children the first couple of months before that baby is born, that way you don't have to keep running back and forth to the store. you are going to be soooo busy and so tired. Get a double stroller if you can afford one. Graco makes some great ones that allow the car seat to fit in one end while the other child sits in the other.

    And most importantly, keep taking your prenatals and folic acid. You need to be fully healthy again before you start to conceive and during the pregnancy (which i'm sure you already know :)What would you advise before having a second baby?
    I'm with everyone else. I would wait a little longer. I know how it is. I have a 13 month old and the ';new baby'; smell has worn off. Everyday he is amazing me with all of the wonderful things he is learning to do and everyday it makes me sad that he is growing so fast. I get the urge to have another all of the time. I also think of how damn tired I am from chasing him around the house and working full time and I could not imagine being pregnant and tired and having to do all of that. Ideally, I would like him to be potty trained and out of the terrible twos before I bring home another baby. Then he will be at the mommy's little helper age.
    Don't assume it's not going to happen straight away if you were hoping for a 2 year gap. I've got a 2 year gap and that's right for me.

    Don't listen to everyone saying to wait another few years. Everyone's perfect gap is different. Some people want the baby stuff out of the way quickly and have them close together, others like to wait until no1 is more independent before going onto no2.

    Anyway. My best advice would be to make sure that you give no1 at least half an hour of exclusive mummy time. Read a book with her or play a game, make her feel special while baby is fast asleep. It really works for me to keep jealousy and difficult behaviour at bay.
    I would wait a little longer. Allow your fist child to have adequate time to bond with you and really get the one on one attention the he or she needs. My children are 3 years apart and even having child number 2 when my daughter was 3 was very difficult. Newborns require alot of time as you know and my daughter began to feel like she wasn't loved because unfortunately, we couldn't give her all our attention as we had done in the past, so she started acting out (tantrums, no longer going potty on her own, etc). Children are wonderful but don't rush into anything. Baby #2 will be just as sweet no matter if you conceive now or later.
    dont have another baby before the first is potty trained. I never want to have kids THAT close in age. Changing 2 diapers at once, is pretty hectic.

    My parents had children that were 3 years apart. That way the oldest child is old enough to understand that there is a new baby in the house, and can help out some when the baby comes. Otherwise there will be lots of jealousy to come, which may still be there, but it helps to have the child a little bit older than 2.
    As long as you can handle it and have the money for another go for it!!

    My parents has 5 kids under 5. And said they wouldn't have it any other way and nor would I, I'm the youngest of the five and I love that we are all so close in age because we get along really well and would always hang out together.

    Our ages are 19, 21, 23, 25 and 25.
    I have four kids all 2 years apart. ok there are the normal fights and arguments but that's a great learning experience on how to get along with different people.

    But mostly they are all able to play together. If we go away, they always have a brother that is also a friend to play with. I think it's nice having them close in age.

    Oh and about money.....if you wait till you have 'enough' ; you'll never have one!
    The time after the birth of a 2nd child is one of the most stressful for a family. It's yet another split of the mothers limited time and attention, its more of a financial strain....so just make sure you're ready for it. My kids are all 3+ years apart so that gap sounds crazy to me but i know that my sister has a couple about 15 months apart...i know it was hell for the first year of two but then it was nice that they had each other close to play with. In my expeience..the longer spread was easier and the kids are still really close...but the timing is just a personal choice.
    If you are trying for another so soon, best of luck, and I hope you have all the patience you need! I waited 3 years between my 1st 2, and 4 years between my 2nd and 3rd. I anticipate it being much easier having an older child to help out than having all being so close in age. Best of luck!!
    my two are 5 years apart and all they do is fight! maybe they would be closer if they were similar in age. but on the other hand it was easier only having one baby and a 5 year old. i think no matter what age they are they will fight at least some so if you think the time is right go for it!
    My advice will be to make sure you can financially take care of it before conceiving. The economy is getting so bad..the worst thing to do is to bring in another mouth to feed.
    I have a 2 year old and a 7 month old. my advice to you is have a daily routine it makes it a lot more easier when you have organization.
    I have a two year old and he takes up all of my time.

    I definatly wouldn't have time to look after a younger child!

    Good luck!
    I would advise to wait at least 4 years. Seriously. My kids are 9 years apart and its WONDERFUL. Its like having a live-in nanny for free.
    id wait a lil longer, leave a couple oof years gap between then, so like one child starts pre-school as the other is born,its easier this way else u will find it a struggle, good luck
    I WOULD SUGGEST GIVING YOUR DAUGHTER A LITTLE MORE BABY TIME.............WAIT UNTIL SHE'S AROUND 2.
    bubblewrap all your furniture :D
    baby number 1 is gonna get jelous so you dont make him/her left out
    Pray for a boy.
    take care of them both!!!!

    Whats the best advise of becoming a photographer?

    i want to be a photographer when i get to college. i will like some one to tell me some one that knows.Whats the best advise of becoming a photographer?
    Get a camera.

    Take some pictures.

    Seriously, though, contact your school newspaper, most colleges that have shool papers are always looking for photographers. It would be best if you had your own equipment, but I know that some school do have ';loaner'; cameras.

    The other thing I would suggest is that you take some courses in photography. While not absolutely necessary, a photography class will help you improve your craft.Whats the best advise of becoming a photographer?
    1) Get the best camera + other equipment you can afford.... usually made by Fuji, Nikon + Canon.

    Read the reviews @ http://www.steves-digicams.com

    2) Always keep your lenses clean.... use a proper brush + lens wipes to do it so the dust doesn't get replaced with grubby finger marks

    3) Check on your progress by regularly sticking stuff up for review @ http://www.thephotographersworkshop.com (I use the same ';jduck1979'; screen name there as I do here).

    4) Get to know how your camera works as best you can

    5) Take your time to frame up shots... unless of course your trying to snap a once in a lifetime moment, like a fast moving race car crossing the finish line, or the winning goal in the Soccer world cup.
    Work with a film slr exclusively for a few months. It will teach you patience as well as all sorts of functions that are automatic on digital.
    Learn light, lighting, flash and exposure

    a
    If you're still in high school, apprentice yourself to a local professional photographer. Take correspondence courses from the New York Institute of Photography. Read photography magazines and books on photography.

    I agree 100% with starting with a film SLR. The Pentax K1000, Minolta SRT-202, Canon FTb would all be good choices. A 50mm lens will be all you need for now.

  • How would you advise a friend who has been a victim of sexual assault?

    Male or female. What should they do? How can you comfort them? Would you want to continue to be a friend or would they make you less comfortable to be with? Would you date someone who had been a victim of sexual assault? (Be careful how you answer this!! You may be surprised at how you really feel.)How would you advise a friend who has been a victim of sexual assault?
    The first thing you should is to make them feel that you are there to help them. If he or she refused to speak out, dont force them. Normally the victim will tend to be quiet and try to isolate themself from you and the family members. They will locked themself in their room and refused to go out or mixed around with their friends.

    However, should you success to make them talk to you. Dont intefer, let them speak out what they felt inside them. Should they cried when they voice out how he or she felt, let it be. They will feel much better after they cried.

    Dont tell them its their faults. It will make things worst.How would you advise a friend who has been a victim of sexual assault?
    Hey are you Dr.Z
    sexual assault is something which happens without the concerned person's consent. if that has been the case happened with any of our friends, there is no need to panic. best thing one should advise is that person should carry on as she/he was before, as if nothing has occurred on her/him, fully forgetting the incident, because it was only an accident. definitely, one should comfort the person with kind words and action which would boost and encourage that person to lead a wonderful life ahead. in life, it is natural, certain things do happen which is beyond our control, it doesnt mean, the whole life is ruined, in fact, it starts there. every person has a right to enjoy their life to their fullest satisfaction. a friend is always a friend, and one should support and ensure that our friend is going to enter into a golden period of her/his life with so many good things to come forward. life is so pleasant, if we all understand each other well and help each other to progress.
    Let them know in the most caring and concerned way that if they feel they can report it they must go to the police as soon as possible. Don't advise anything unless he/she specifically asks you for it. Let them know you will support them no matter what they decide. You might need to just ';be'; around them if they trust your company and not force any conversation about it unless they want to talk. Trust is absolutely pinnacle so do not abuse it by talking to other folk about it without their express permission. Keep a close eye on them until you are sure they are dealing with it and do not need your support.
    Listen if they want to talk. Even when they talk, don't push for details, check and hold curiosity. They will need a lot of love, patience and understanding.

    I will be friend/ date to them.
    well that's a hard one as people act different too that kind of thing when it happens to them. some go on with their lives and some just cant get over it and it takes over their lives.

    i myself had had that happen twice in my life time,once when i was 16 and then again at 30, the one at 30 was a cop and there was nothing that i could do about it, as it was a small town and nobody belived me. so i do not trust too many police.i never dwelled on all of that as it can ruin your life.to me it happened nothing can change that so get over it.just be there for someone if they need to talk or cry ,that's all you can do.
    If they were my friend b4 tht happen i still would b their friend bt i would make sure they got sum counselin coz tht sum traumatic ****
    I would let them know that I was there for them, no questions asked, no matter what.

    I would allow them talk, about ANYTHING, if that's what they wanted.

    I would allow them to sit in silence, if that's what they wanted.

    I would hold them when they cried.

    And I would cry with them.
    I would tell them that it is NOT THEIR FAULT! also not to change their appearence at all. Rape isn't just about sex, it's about control.

    Playing Devil's Advocate it would give me an intense sense of satisfaction if my victim cut her hair or changed attire. ';When life gives you lemons make lemonade';

    Also whatever doesn't kill you makes you stronger!

    Any tips or advise on moving to the country?

    We can't stand living in the city. We want to move to the country. We'd love to even have a farm but don't know how to start. Any advice or tips on how to find a good place in the country, that isn't super expensive?Any tips or advise on moving to the country?
    Depending on where you are, places in ';the country'; like where I live have gotten ridiculously expensive. If you've never lived in the country, there are a few things you might have to prepare yourself for, depending on how far out into the ';country'; you move, and whether your concept of out in the country is actually into a small town, or really and truly out of any town. I'm going to assume the latter, since that is in fact where I live.

    First, it gets DARK at night. No street lights of course. Some people find that to be scary.

    Second, it may seem remote. Face it, get in your car and you can get to town pretty quick -- well, within a couple hours, anyway -- but you're not going to be walking to a store. That isolation can unnerve some people.

    Your city friends might come see you, once a year or so.

    You're often pretty much on your own. You may find that certain service providers don't want to drive out to your place to fix or deliver appliances or repair your roof.

    Speaking of on your own, should you call 911 for a fire, it's going to be a volunteer fire department. Those folks have to leave their homes and go to the fire station and gear up and then drive all the way out to your place, which is likely to have completely burnt down by the time they arrive. That's just the way it is. An ambulance is not going to get there much sooner either, so you may have to reconcile yourself to driving yourself or whatever bleeding family member needs attention to the hospital on your own.

    And by the way, except for maybe stitching the typical laceration (the type of which is commonplace among country dwellers doing things on their own), that local hospital is not likely to be more than a triage center where they prepare the patient for transport to a much larger facility, usually by helicopter since that facility is so far away.

    Do you have a gun? If not, are you prepared to get one? Call 911 for a cop and he/she may not be there for an hour or more, especially at night when the lone deputy on duty may be on a call at the other end of the county. You may also need a gun to get rid of the occasional nuisance critter, like a raccoon in your attic or a badger in your basement (remember, you're so far out of town that there's no Animal Control service). Can you shoot an animal? Get used to the idea...if you find one of your housecats has been terminally chewed apart by a bobcat, you're the one that's going to have to put it out of its misery (it's two hours to the nearest vet).

    And how about a chain saw? ';In the country'; around here means ';out in the woods.'; After a windy night you may find yourself literally having to cut your way out through blown over trees. No one else is going to do it for you.

    Your electricty is probably going to go out sooner and be repaired later than anyone in town. Be prepared to live a week (maybe even longer) without it.

    The snowplow may or may not reach your neck of the woods during a snowstorm.

    The local school will be small, and probably under-equipped and under-staffed by larger district standards. You'll be expected to fill in some of those deficiencies by volunteering. Kids will have long bus rides, and ';away'; games really will be quite far ';away.';

    And we haven't talked about your commute. There aren't what you'd call a lot of jobs in the country (I'm lucky, by design, sort of, since I'm a forester who actually works out here), so most people have to drive however far (60 to 100 miles around here, ONE WAY) to get to work every day. That's the same distance you have to go to go shopping at a large grocery store, major department store, eat at a restaurant or go to a movie or decent bar (there are a couple indecent bars a bit closer).

    Are you the type that if you have a problem with a neighbor, you can approach them and work it out between you, or is your first reaction to call the authorities? If the former, you'll do okay. If the latter, you'll be ostracized by the locals as a spoiled city slicker, and you'll probably not get much help from the authorities anyway.

    You'll have to learn to take care of a well and a septic system, since you'll probably not be on city water systems.

    Have I mentioned dial-up internet? Or a rather expensive satelite alternative?

    Well, these are some of the negatives of living out here, and there is a whole host of gradients between. For example, I know some people who live 15 miles out of town but are still served by city water.

    And I haven't mentioned the positives. While it does exist, crime is low (criminals know that homeowners are generally armed and not afraid to shoot). You may have room to grow a nice garden, really big enough to provide some actual year-round food (if you learn to can, that is). If you keep a low profile, you'll see and experience things in nature that pass most people in the towns and cities by, like deer looking in your windows, thousands of more stars in the night sky, sex in the front yard on a hammock, and a quiet so quiet you'll sometimes think you've gone deaf.... Yeah, life out here is pretty grand, IF you know what you're getting into.Any tips or advise on moving to the country?
    What do you mean by “farm?” Are you talking a few animals and a garden for yourself or commercial farming where you’re growing crops or raising animals to sell?

    If it’s the former, you can do internet research and buy books on the things you want to raise. If it’s the latter, I hope you have a spare million+ lying around because a commercial farm is not a cheap thing to start.

    Having grown up in a rural area, I can tell you that anything in the country will be comparatively affordable to urban life so long as you’re not buying a huge plot of land for a commercial farm. The big reason for the lower property prices is much lower demand. In an urban area, just about everything you need is within a few miles of home. In a rural area, you can easily drive an hour or more just to get to a grocery store. Just as in larger areas, most property is sold through real estate agents. Pick an area of the country where you want to live and contact an agent who works there.

    When making this move consider

    -Proximity to jobs, if you still need to work

    -Proximity to services like hospitals, grocery stores, etc

    -Can you live without being able to run down the street for a gallon of milk, to rent a DVD, get a burger, etc.?

    -The weather. Will you potentially get stranded at your home for days or weeks after a storm? (unpaved roads can’t be treated)
    Definitely try renting first so that you are not sinking your entire investment. I am a country bumpkin gone city...I miss the country but I am not so sure my kids would be happy. I am just going to mention things for you to consider if you work in town.

    1. If you are on a country road and need to get to work every day, the road graters pass LAST on the country roads.

    2. You must be self reliant in the sense if you get stuck, hope you have something to pull yourself out on the road. Not all farmers are laying on their lazy backs to pull you out and there is always a risk of damaging your car.

    2a. That gallon of milk is miles away. So are your kids friends.

    3.If you like street lights to light up the area when you come home, you will have to pay for one. It is good to see the ground and know what you are stepping on.

    4.Wild Kingdom is at your back door if you do not own a large dog to keep them at bay. Skunks, raccoons, deer munching on garden, Mr. Coyote.

    5.No use screaming because no one is within ear distance. Once I was coming home and shutting the gate, and the neighbors bull was beside my truck, I touched its fur without knowing and scared the living day lights out of me. Phone in truck...nothing happened because the bull could care less about all the excitement. I went home and got a bucket of grain to coax him back where he came from.

    6.Gas prices and distance traveled to and from work. How long can you last snowed in? I am not knocking the country at all because I grew up with tractors, 4WD, chains, guns, deep freezers, and light. I miss the country and would go in a heartbeat if I had those items. You can survive one year renting and see what it is like. Maybe your area is off a main highway and you are in a better economic situation. There are lots of people out in the country.
    First of all - just do it. You will love it. Get a good realtor, and get ready to meet people and for such quiet days and nights you'll never want to go back to the city life. Probably better to get a place that has been updated or renovated, rather than making a life project out of it.

    Tax professionals please advise, can you challenge tax code?

    I believe a certain part of the tax code is silly, and I'd like to challenge it to get it overturned. Is this possible for a civilian to do?Tax professionals please advise, can you challenge tax code?
    You are free to take the IRS to court over their interpretation of the law. Plenty of folks have done that successfully. The stripper who sued over the denial of her breast augmentation surgery as a business expense comes to mind as a classic case.

    If you feel the law itself is ';silly'; then you'll have to take that up with your elected representatives. Only Congress can change the law.Tax professionals please advise, can you challenge tax code?

    Silliness is not an argument to do away with a tax provision. You could not challenge the provision in court based on your opinion that it is not a good idea.

    Court rulings have changed how the tax laws are interpreted.

    Can you please advise me about the Toyota Yaris Hatchback? Any comments and tips about this model would be?

    I need to buy either a new or used car urgentlyCan you please advise me about the Toyota Yaris Hatchback? Any comments and tips about this model would be?
    We own a Fit, but one of my wife's fellow carpoolers has a Yaris 4-door hatchback. It has a smaller trunk than our Fit, but is otherwise extremely comparable, including front and back seat width and knee/leg room. I find the instrument panel location on the Yaris a bit odd, but it is extremely readable. Yaris has slightly less ';sporty'; suspension than the Fit. MPG is almost exactly the same between the two.

    I know you specified the hatchback, but I thought I'd mention that the Yaris is an updated Echo, which is easy to see if you look at the sedan version of Yaris next to an Echo (Echo didn't have a hatchback version). Not really relevant to your question, just a bit of trivia.Can you please advise me about the Toyota Yaris Hatchback? Any comments and tips about this model would be?

    What is your advise for an abused woman?

    There are thousands of abused women in the world, unfortunately they

    are tied to the abuser by many reasons including psychological dominance. If you could talk to the victims what would you tell them?What is your advise for an abused woman?
    There is NO reason you should stay with who ever abuses you. RUN AWAY %26amp; you will get help!What is your advise for an abused woman?
    I would ask them if they really do love them. if yes, explain why they really don't if their doing this to them. otherwise, get as much help as you can to get way from this person. tell anyone you trust or love! call the police and report the abuse. if they charge fines or something, you have the chance to get to got to a counselor for free. TAKE THE OPPORTUNITY! don't make the same mistake i did!
    It's not really as easy as just leaving them.. it's a really scary situation..

    Best thing is to do things to make the person feel safe. Tell them it's okay now and they won't be hurt again. etc.

    Get good locks on the doors? Firearm maybe not such a great idea.. but some kind of weapon maybe? To feel safe.
    Make sure you have filed a complaint, so the abuse is documented. Obtain a legal firearm. Go home put two in his chest, one in his head. Any lawyer can get self-defense at that point.
    Seek whatever community resources are available in your area. This is not a rare problem, there is help out there.

    I'm not really that best at giving advices, but I want to help out my sister. • How could you advise a business organisation on the issue of reducing its staff ?

    A Company is overstaffed with several employees not skilled in modern business methods. Hence they propose reducing staffs by 25% but potentially employing 3 new skilled staff to improve their skills base. What relevant employment law would they need to consider when engagingnew staffHow could you advise a business organisation on the issue of reducing its staff ?
    Before firing %26amp; hiring, I advise that they seriously invesigate their core business. If those they wish to fire are responsible for generating as much worth as those they wish to fire, then its a net loss for the business because of the overhead of the transition.

    I have seen a dozen times where ';new blood'; is traded out for ';old blood'; and fundamental expertise or established relationships were lost, and in the short %26amp; long terms it cost the company more than it brought in.

    The form of the ';understand the business'; would be a set of SMART (specific, measurable, actionable, relevant, timely) metrics that relate the performance of each employee to the bottom line. Then using those metrics, and gathering enough data to have ';reasonable confidence'; I would create a piretti chart that lists employees in descending order of cost to benefit ratio. I would also keep an eye out for ';key operations'; people who dont have as much apparent worth, but like ';the department secretary';, who rules the college more than the college president and brings more function than 10 presidents. If you get rid of a key person like that it can hit you severely.

    I would communicate the performance metrics, and a first-season reporting, to the employees, and make the requirements public. If they know there is an axe to avoid they can make my job easier by either improving performance, or firing themselves by getting another job. I would also have them participate in the process of understanding the core business, and in building metrics. That builds consensus, gives you access to their expertise, and gives a showcase for them as an opportunity to show their worth to the company.

    If you want legal advice, and what you are doing could cost you a lawsuit (attorneys are $400 per hour) then you should invest the $400 or $1600 ahead of time to avoid punitive judgments. Get a real attorney to talk real business law with you.How could you advise a business organisation on the issue of reducing its staff ?
    I would recommend that staff reductions be made starting with the poorest performers. Ideally, there are performance review records which would be available to document their competence, efficiency, and work record as a whole. These are ';neutral criteria'; and should insulate you from any claims of discrimination.

    As long as your employment decisions are based on ';business necessity'; rather then ';personalities';, or other subjective factors, you should be on solid ground.

    Be sure to identify the poor performers throughout the organization, relieving some from all Departments proportionately.

    Develop a ';severance package';, and a Letter of Acceptance to guarantee that you will not be sued later by a disgruntled employee.

    The ';severance package'; is above and beyond that normally provided for in the Company Policies or Employee Handbook. The Letter of Acceptance merely indicated that the employee, under no duress and of his/her free will accepts the terms and conditions of severance and waives all claims now and in the future, including any Civil Rights allegations, against the company.

    In recruiting the new hires be sure that their qualifications far outweigh those persons that are being let go and that they are ready to step into the breach left by the ';reorganization';.

    Will a doctor advise trying to get pregnant if a woman has a submucus fibroid tumor?

    I'm writing a story about a woman who has a uterine fibroid tumor (totally benign, but causing all kinds of problems). She will have to have a hysterectomy within the next year or so because of all of the problems the tumor is causing. She wants to have children some day, so I want to know if her doctor would advise her to start trying to get pregnant before her symptoms get too bad.Will a doctor advise trying to get pregnant if a woman has a submucus fibroid tumor?
    I don't think a doctor would advise that. It's too risky for the baby.Will a doctor advise trying to get pregnant if a woman has a submucus fibroid tumor?
    If she's having a hysterectomy, pregnancy is impossible anyway.

    What would you advise Prez Truman if you were alive during the atomic bomb?

    What would you tell Truman?What would you advise Prez Truman if you were alive during the atomic bomb?
    If you drop atomic bombs on Japanese cities, you will kill alot of non-military civilians.What would you advise Prez Truman if you were alive during the atomic bomb?
    This was probably the greatest moral dilemma of the last century.

    It is quite simple, dropping the bomb means killing innocent women and children etc.

    Not dropping it means a prolonged war and hundreds of thousands of dead US soldiers in trying to pacify mainland Japan. This would also inevitably include the killing of innocent women and children.
    I think the words of General Eisenhower say it nicely:

    ~~~DWIGHT EISENHOWER
    ';...in [July] 1945... Secretary of War Stimson, visiting my headquarters in Germany, informed me that our government was preparing to drop an atomic bomb on Japan. I was one of those who felt that there were a number of cogent reasons to question the wisdom of such an act. ...the Secretary, upon giving me the news of the successful bomb test in New Mexico, and of the plan for using it, asked for my reaction, apparently expecting a vigorous assent.
    ';During his recitation of the relevant facts, I had been conscious of a feeling of depression and so I voiced to him my grave misgivings, first on the basis of my belief that Japan was already defeated and that dropping the bomb was completely unnecessary, and secondly because I thought that our country should avoid shocking world opinion by the use of a weapon whose employment was, I thought, no longer mandatory as a measure to save American lives. It was my belief that Japan was, at that very moment, seeking some way to surrender with a minimum loss of 'face'. The Secretary was deeply perturbed by my attitude...';
    - Dwight Eisenhower, Mandate For Change, pg. 380
    The military was against the use of the bomb, it was dropped for political reasons, not military ones. It's use was unnecessary, the war was over.
    http://www.doug-long.com/quotes.htm
    Drop it.
    You will save millions of lives both Allies and Japanese by just killing a couple hundred thousand Japanese civilians.
    Also fire bombing raids were way more deadly then both atomic bombs.
    I would tell President Truman to use the Atomic Bomb it would save to lives.
    Use every available weapon to kill Japanese until they surrender or cease to exist.
    Can you please advise how to draw an angle of 135 Degrees and bisect it using compass?
    I know the ans is 67.5 however, from which angles do you get it from. Or how do you do it using a compass. Many thanksCan you please advise how to draw an angle of 135 Degrees and bisect it using compass?
    Steps to do this with only a straightedge and compass :
    1) Draw a straight line with the straightedge.
    2) Construct a perpendicular to this line.
    3) Bisect one of the right angles formed.
    You now have a 45 degree angle -- and a 135 degree angle.
    4) Bisect the 135 the same way you bisected the 90.
    As for the mesure, you know it will be 67.5 degrees, since bisect means to cut in half.Can you please advise how to draw an angle of 135 Degrees and bisect it using compass?
    Draw an 60 degree angle first then extend it to 120. Bisect teh 60degree angle into 30 degrees each and again bisect one of 30 degree angles into 15degrees. Take this measurment of 15 degree draw upon the 120 degree angle and your would get 135. the math is like this 60+ 60= 120 + 15 = 135.
    Take the measurement of midpoint of the said 135degree angle and bisesct it.
    yup!
    Here are all the steps... :
    1. First make any line segment, say AB
    2. taking any radius (less than AB) make a sort of semi circle, taking A as center
    the place where this ';circle'; intersects AB would be at say,. D.
    3. taking same radius and D as center, cut the same ';circle';, i.e. intersect it...
    4. now from this intersection point as center, taking same radius, cut the ';circle'; again.
    this angle is 120 degrees...
    5. repeat 4. with the new point..
    we have 160 degrees...
    6. Now intersect the last arc, i.e. the arc made by the latest 2 points..
    7. when you intersect this arc, then you will get 2 arcs, intersect the which is on the 'upper' side..
    now, this ive us 90 + [(60/2)/2] =%26gt; 90 + (30 /2) =%26gt; 90 + 15 = 135!
    To bisect this angle, say angle XAD :-
    1. Take X as center and more than half the distance between X and D..
    2. cut two arcs once from X and once from D, they should intersect..
    Join A with this point...
    gives you, 135/2 = 67.5 degrees..
    i'm sure you can figure out how to bisect the other angles too..
    hope that helps//
    1. Draw 90 degree angle. Bisect it.
    2.You'll get 45 degree. Adjacent angle is 135 degree.
    3.Bisect it then.
    Instructions to bisect are in the following link :
    www.youtube.com/watch?v=hzEYW383HAw
    Hope the video will help you more than verbal nstructions as you seem to be a novice.
    construct a perpendicular by bisecting a line
    bisect one of the 90潞 angles
    the obtuse angle will be 135潞
    bisect the 135潞 angle to get 67.5潞
    Where do you advise me to rent a house in flatshare?
    I am a 18 year old girl and I am going to move to London next summer.
    I want to share a flat with other guys, but I don't know in which zones is best to concentrate my research. My only requirements are: a house in the centre of London (zones 1, 2) , in a safe district, at the north of the river, not too expensive ( not over 130 拢 pw).
    Any idea?
    Hope to made myself clear!
    Thanks!Where do you advise me to rent a house in flatshare?
    To live in Zone 1 or 2 your looking at MORE than 拢130 a week even in a flat share!
    I was living in clapham (deemed a *nice* safe area) a few years ago and it was 拢120 in a flat share on an ex council estate (rough as hell) yet clapham as half a mill houses,
    (I lived in clapham my whole life by the way) Full of middle class people in expensive houses but that doesn't take away the fact there are estates and tower blocks still in the area!
    All areas in London are like that! You can live in posh Hampstead in North London and still get a tower block round the corner!
    London areas have pockets of good and bad.
    I'd advice having a look on gumtree.co.uk to work out what areas and what types of accommodation cost you.
    My sister and I now live in East London a so called *rougher* area in zone 3 (you can still find half a mill houses here)
    anway, she pays 拢130 a week for a double room in a 8 people flat share!! I rent a 2 bed flat at 拢736 a month (And that's cheap for what we have)
    Now, you go onto the gumtree and compare those with other flat shares and flats to rent.
    London accommodation is one of THE most expensive and is what people spend most of their income on here.
    You may find your flat share for 拢130 a week, i'm not saying you won't as their are always little gems BUT you need to be a bit more realistic when it comes to areas and price.
    I'd love to rent a two bed flat in Clapham, but wishing and reality are 2 different things lol Prices won't go down to fit my criteria so you have to work around it.
    Widen your search area or budget and you should find something. :0)
    Best of luck looking! Hope you find something good!
  • I need some advise/suggestions! How easy would it be to do my own wedding bouquet?
    I am on a really tight budget for my wedding. I want a nice bouquet, but have heard how expensive florists usually are and I really can't afford that. I want real flowers so I was thinking about getting my flowers from a wholesaler and doing the bouquet myself. We are not having a wedding party so all I have to worry about is my bouquet. Does anyone have any experience doing their own bouquet? How hard would it be to do? Any helpful advise/suggestions? Thanks!I need some advise/suggestions! How easy would it be to do my own wedding bouquet?
    sweetie they are dead easy to do - michael's crafts has all the components to make your own bouquet and if you are nervous about it at all they have classes you can go to and learn all the tricks of the trade!
    i made a beautiful bride's bouquet with a dozen roses [artificial] and greenery for less than $25.00 - you can do it too! if you want to do fresh flowers then you simply purchase a different holder for them. the difference is in the foam - one type for fresh flowers and one type for artificial! you can do this girl! happy wedding!
    watch michael's for sales - and btw their artificial flowrs are very nice!I need some advise/suggestions! How easy would it be to do my own wedding bouquet?
    I had a few cheap Martha Stewart DVDs I found (like $3) that had DIY wedding flowers - they were gorgeous. I'd be totally scared to do it my own though without the experience. You should get a cost estimate on the flowers you want and see if it's even much of a big difference. You could get the plastic bouquet holder and foam at a craft store (like Michael's) for a few bucks, or you could wrap the bouquet in really pretty ribbon. If I were you, I'd look into DIY bouquet books. Hope this helps a bit!
    I had considered doing my own flowers, but was convinced to reconsider. If you do your own flowers, you have to do them not more than a day or 2 before the wedding. I know I want to relax those last couple days! I looked into an inexpensive alternative. I am going to have my flowers done by a local grocery store (Stop and Shop) that has a floral department! They are much cheaper than florists and just as beautiful!
    It will be really easy.
    Advice...Spy on the enemy! wa ha ha. Ok...seriously. Go to different florists and ask them questions about flowers and bouquets but don't buy any. You'll learn some neat tips about clipping the flowers so they last longer, and you'll see examples of professional looking bouquets that you can copy if you find one you really like.
    Also look online at pictures, its easiest to find a picture of what style you want, and then just replace it with the your colors. The picture gives you something to follow to make sure yours looks right.
    Good luck! My friend made hers for herself %26amp; wedding party.
    I also considered doing this. I figured after i purchased all the needed materials and the flowers it was still cheaper to buy it @ the florist. We ordered threw 1-800 flowers and they hooked us up with a local florist. My flowers for me were $40.
    i say get 5 or 6 long steam lillys and hand tie them with silk ribon
    Can anybody give me advise for choosing a major?
    I am 12th grade right now and by nov. 30 the application for college application will be over. I am planning to be an engineer but I am not quiet sure what branch of engineering will i be taking. I love computers so i am planning to take electronic and computer engineering but I dont have real knowledge about the inside of the computer. My question is do you have to have knowledge about the area I want to take before I take it or is it enough to just be interested in it?.Can anybody give me advise for choosing a major?
    as soon as you go to college it will take you about a year to really no what u wanna do. its normal.your not lost you just growing. do what makes you happy.Can anybody give me advise for choosing a major?
    It doesn't matter too much what major you choose. You can change it in the future, or do something totally unrelated to your degree major after school anyway. I have a degree in computer engineering but work as a manager at a hotel.
    it is basically the interest which counts and a little bit of knowledge...coz when you study you aquire more knowledge and become an expert.
    first of all basic knowledge about the course u want to take is important. make sure u know what ur getting urself into. secondly, ask urself these questions:
    what other abilities/talents i have that can help me succeed?
