...and expected to slam into earth at the rate of 5,000 miles a second in about 6 months?

Pray for their god to save us, guess what? We would be doomed. As for me, I'm eating beef, it's what's for dinner.
Bush would build a bomb shelter 10 miles under the earths surface, have it stocked with a lifetime supply of every luxury he could everwant. Seal himself up, and thenlet the American public know. Pat Robertson, would say it is God punishing the Earth for not voting for his presidential campaighn, then ask W if he has any room in his bomb shelter.

Don't ask , don't tell...an asteroid of that size would be the end of all life on earth, and its doubtful we could do anything to defend the world against it.

It would take Bush almost six months to understand the problem, and another six months to react to it.





And his advisors would calculate where the asteroid would strike the earth and make sure Bush was visiting that spot at the time.





Don't know John Hagee, but if he's a typical TV preacher, he would create a telethon to raise money for the victims of the asteroid strike, with all checks payable to his personal account.





Pat Robertson would spend the next six months boasting that he knew this was going to happen because God emailed him about it. And he would be very disappointed if it didn't really happen.
Bush would spend the time claiming that the existance of the asteroid was ';just a theory.'; The two religious fanatics would claim it was divine judgement against whatever victim they were busy smearing at the moment.
They would advise to pray that means you're pretty much on your own. An asteroid this size hit the earth will not make a different where you go. As the asteroid initially struck the earth, the earth will all engulf in flame, burn everyone and everythng, after that there will be a nuclear winter last for years. I don't think anyone will survive unless they have an underground bunker with enough food and water last for 20 years.
They would say that the Great Journey has come to take us to Glorious Salvation.
