Several dental assistants advise newly graduated dental assistants to not work at franchises?

such as ';Comfort Dental'; ';Perfect Teeth';, etc, but should rather work at private owning dental offices. Why is this? ';Experienced'; dental assistants say that such dental offices that are franchised do not treat their members well, and do not pay dental assistants as much as private owned dental offices. Is this true? What do you think?Several dental assistants advise newly graduated dental assistants to not work at franchises?
I have heard the same thing. Ive never worked at a place like that however the doctor that I work with when she was a dental assistant she worked for a place like that. (she wanted to be a dentist at a place like that) She said doctors come and go they hardly ever stay. So you dont get paid very well because when a new doctor comes in they dont know how you work. Also she said they have a quota that they want to reach and if they dont they get mad at the staff for not working fast enough for them to do more work. Another thing she said is even if the patients dont need a crown the doctors will talk them into getting one.Several dental assistants advise newly graduated dental assistants to not work at franchises?
you are right a franchise dental practice is ran like a chop shop, get them in and get them out. most of the patient come because is the insurance plan their on. In a private practice dentist pay a lot of money for advertising and when they get a new patient the red carpet is rolled out.

I worked for Comfort Dental as a receptionist. I'm a dental assistant, but it's the only job I could get. Imagine how insulting it was when they hired some high schooler off the street and trained her to be a dental assistant because they could pay her less since she didn't have the certification.
