I have recently tendered my resignation for my current work placement and wish to seek assistance on the possibility of legal action against them. Can anyone suggest an organization who can look over my case?Where can I seek advise with regards to legal action against my employer?
In the UK, trade unions are the only people that can help you through the entire process, but if you are not a member then you can get advice from either the Citizens Advice Bureau or contact ACAS through their web site.
If you have resigned, then a claim for constructive dismissal is your only possibility. You would need to have been employed for over a year and be able to demonstrate that your employer made it all but impossible for you to undertake your work.Where can I seek advise with regards to legal action against my employer?
In the Uk you have to be a member of a trade union to obtain their help.
They will not help you unless you have signed up beforehand.
constructive dismissal in the uk has certain procedures that have to be followed before you can log a claim at an industrial tribunal.
if you are not a union member then the only options you have is to either contact your local CAB ACAS for advice or contact a solicitor but you could end up paying out more than you could ever hope to achieve in compensation.
In future join a union its an insurance policy for protection against bad employers.
if you are uk based then go to a relevant trade union site. or type in unfair dismissal on google and see if any of these websites are relevant to your situation.
I expect you can do the same in the US and do you have a pro -bono law practice in your area, they may be able to help on a no win no fee basis
If you're in a Union, contact them.
If you're not, either
- Phone the ACAS helpline
- Go to CAB and ask them for help
(Both of those sources are free of charge).
If you post brief details on here, someone may be able to help you. There are a few employers and HR people around on YA.
If you are in the US, then who you'd talk to would depend on what the legal action is for. Please update your info so someone can help you.
any solicitors/lawyers office will give you advice on this, been through the same. or do a search on the internet with your area and you will find what you need. good luck.xx
Your local citizens advice center will help you out.
In the U.K. it;s the Citizens' Advice Bureau but I suspect from your spelling that you are probably American?!? I don't know if you have that organisation in the U.S.
